Every person and place has a story. Iris delves into local history to illuminate key people and events in the past, as well as trace the development of cities and properties. She digs through local records—including maps, historical images, and documents—to bring stories to life and draw connections to modern-day events and locations.

DESIGNATION REPORTS

Whether researching an individual property, series of structures, or entire community, Iris works with property owners and community organizations to research and write designation reports and surveys, which highlight the historical and architectural importance of specific sites.

With the passage of time pieces of our history are often lost, which is why signs can be so important. Iris has spearheaded the placement of several historical markers in South Florida, which offer the the public a glimpse into the past.

From its initial concept and design to past residents, Iris enjoys combing through property records, census data, and other archives to uncover the beauty and history of homes and their inhabitants.
